Preliminary Ecological Appraisal

Also known as an ‘Extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey’, desk study data will be used in conjunction with a site visit by a suitably experienced ecologist, to record the existing habitats on site and assess the potential for protected/notable species to be present.

This Ecological Impact Assessment provides an opportunity to exclude the need for further survey work, identifies any known or potential protected/rare species that may be using the site, and outlines recommendations on how to proceed with the works in a legal and ecologically sensitive manner. This may identify the requirement for further (species specific) surveys.

Where necessary (and possible), a Preliminary Bat Roost Assessment and Habitat Suitability Index (great crested newt) will be included within the PEA as standard.

Very impressed
